Our mission is simple: to share the good news of Jesus with the people of Folkestone and beyond.
We want to be a church for all ages and all generations — a place where children, young people, families and older adults can discover Jesus, grow in faith and find a sense of belonging.
We believe the Gospel is good news for everyone. We want to know Jesus, make Him known and serve our community, showing God’s love in both words and action.

Our History
Harbour Church has been part of the Folkestone community for almost 100 years, with a heart to see people discover Jesus, grow in faith and make a difference in the lives of those around them.
Where Our Story Began
Our story began in 1927, when the Full Gospel Tabernacle was established in Folkestone. The church was part of the growing Pentecostal movement and became a place where people gathered to worship, pray and hear the Gospel.
In 1934, following a division within the congregation, some members began meeting at Foord Road, in the building that is now known as Sunflower House. This became an important part of our church's history and spiritual heritage.
Over the following decades, the two congregations continued their separate journeys. In 1985, they were reunited, coming together again as Harbour Community Church.
As the church continued to grow, we met in a number of different locations around Folkestone, including schools and community buildings, while looking for a more permanent home.
In 2016, Harbour Church began discussions about acquiring the former St Saviour's Church on Canterbury Road. The building has its own long history in the Folkestone community, having served local people for generations.
Harbour Church eventually made St Saviour's its home, continuing its role as a place where people can gather, connect and find community. Over the years, the building has been used for church services, children's and youth groups, toddler groups, coffee mornings and practical support for people in our local community.
Today
Nearly 100 years after our story began, we continue to be a church with a heart for Jesus and for Folkestone.
While our name, buildings and circumstances have changed over the years, our desire remains the same: to know Jesus, make Him known and serve the people of Folkestone and beyond.
We are grateful for the generations of people who have faithfully built into the church, thankful for all that God has done, and excited about what He has ahead.
